Surfers of Siargao team administrator and Australian surfers saves lives at the MV Leonida 2 sea tragedy

Danjug Team Manager Martin Andanar hails Danjug Team Administrator Jing Gurrobat and the Australia surfers for their heroic act during the MV Leonida 2 sea mishap.
Jing Gurrobat and the two other Australia surfers were the only people who jumped from the Montenegro Roro Ship to save the remaining victims of the sunk MV Leonida 2.
"I just had to do it with my surfboard since everybody was scared to jump into the open sea because of the strong current." Jing Gurrobat was able to save two 4 months old babies.

MV Leonida sank at 12 noon on November 26, 2006 off the coast of Hinatuan Island, Surigao Del Norte due to rough waves and alleged shipment overloading.
Out of the 100 passengers, 66 people were rescued, 14 people are confirmed dead while 20 are still missing. |
