Surfers of Siargao bags two championships at the recent Surfing competition in Lanuza, Surigao Del Sur.

Congratulations to Danjug Team members Edito Alcala and Manette Alcala for winning the Championship rounds and Alex Comandante for placing fourth in their respective divisions at the recent November 2006 Lanuza Surfing Competition in Surigao del Sur.
According to Team Administrator Jing Gurrobat, "the victory of Edito Alcala boosts the morale of the junior surfers of Siargao while Manette Alcala's victory should inspire the women of siargao to learn surfing."

| Manette Alcala is the first and only female Filipino surfer who has competed in the international surfing circuit in Australia. She is back in the local surfing challenge mood after taking a long break from surfing.
Edito Alcala is one of the most promising young surfers of Siargao. He has been been topping in his junior category consistently in the last three competitions in Siargao, Samar and Lanuza this year. Edito and the rest of the Danjug Team members are headed for La Union this month to compete on this year's last local circuit competition. |
